Temple Quarter campaign launched at Government property conference

Bristol’s place as a leading relocation destination was further reinforced at the Government Property 2010 conference on 19th July.

More than 50 representatives from public sector organisations and the property industry attended an Invest in Bristol work session at which the Environment Agency’s Head of Corporate Assets, Liz Buckle, explained why her organisation had chosen Bristol for their new headquarters. Find out more.

International wind turbine firm moves to Bristol

Bristol’s place as a leading green city and a magnet for low carbon investment has been further reinforced with the news that international wind turbine company Vestas Spare Parts & Repair has moved to the city - creating 20 new jobs.

Bristol is the most competitive large English city

Bristol has been identified as the most competitive large English city outside of London by a new economic study.

The UK Competitiveness Index 2010, which has been published by the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) ranks Bristol as the most competitive English large City with Edinburgh taking the top spot across the UK.

The report defines competitiveness as ‘the ability for an economy to attract and maintain firms with stable or rising market shares in an activity, while maintaining stable or increasing standards of living for those who participate in it.’
